Destin Harbor ranks among Florida's largest, home to over 110 charter boats and the largest charter fishing fleet in the state. The city takes its name from Captain Leonard Destin, who settled here around 1845 and established the local fishing industry. Every October, the town fills up for the Destin Fishing Rodeo, a month-long tournament that's become a Destin tradition.
